Sunday, October 2, 2016 - A still enjoyable, warm and reasonably complex single vineyard CA chard but losing fruit with thus more pronounced acidity - any remaining holdings need to drunk up relatively soon. A good QPR at our acquisition cost - got this from our CC during a cellar clearance sale. Warm and round, controlled butter and oak but overall definitely in a classic CA chard style, dark gold and a pleasant aftertaste. Warm nose of honey, honeydew melon and a hint of cinnamon. Flavor profile probably darker then originally intended when more fruit was present - structured acids, buttery oak, yellow apple, a hint of banana and toffee. Significantly degraded overnight even with refrigeration. Hard to recommend this wine as it is clearly a bit over the hill at this point.
