Friday, October 28, 2016 - Have not had this since 2014. All notes then (4) are superb. This time we are more questioning. Impressive concentration, almost black and with lots of extract. However, the flavors are really dark and almost burnt. Massive mouthfeel but now it feels like the structure is not quite there to support it. Acid and sweetness are not quite holding up to the enormous darkness and dark fruit. Almost acrid? Bottle variation? Very unusual for any Alban, which is normally a favorite of ours.
