Tuesday, April 18, 2017 - Had this over 3 days

A: a deep purple color
N: blackberry jam, Plum jam, black cherry, white pepper, vanilla, a drop of dark chocolate powder and tobacco
Youthful if chocolate and tobacco are oak , developing if its from deliberate oxidation
P: Dry. High acid, medium (+) body, medium (+) tannin), high alcohol (14.5%), medium (+) intensity, medium finish .
flavors same as nose but as it warms, the cocoa powder and tobacco more pronounced
C: BLIC? Points for balance, intensity and maybe for length but not seeing a lot of complexity here. Very Good Quality wine. Drink now but has potential for aging. More fruit forward than i usually like but definitely a zin for adults. Would prefer it with some age on it. Got this for $30.49 a bottle.
69% zin, 18% petite sirah, 11% carignan, 2% mataro (mourvedre)
