2001 Château Cos d'Estournel

Monday, August 21, 2017 - 2nd of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, big mistake not to decant, as the wine harder and dumber than Feb bottle, all the attributes for a fine and perhaps very fine bottle, but currently low on pleasure, don't touch for 2 years. A tentative F (17.5).

'90, '89, '86 and '82 are a joy, but can't see the '01 quite matching their grace (even '86), just a hint of excess extraction relative to inherent matiere. Best, Liber
