Sunday, August 27, 2017 - This chardonnay was quite good the first night with delicate floral aromas and a very refined, elegant taste that was both complex and consistent from start to finish. Neither the oak nor the alcohol 9 - at only 13% - overwhelmed the flavors. I enjoyed it immensely a saved a glass for the second evening. To my disappointment the wine took on oak flavors that overpowered some of the floral hints that were there earlier. The wine also had a somewhat bitter aftertaste. It was still good, but not nearly like after opening the bottle. Parker says this wine will age will until 2025 and, tasted in 2015, rated it 91. I would rate it 91 on the first day, but 87 on day 2, for an average 89. I don't think it will last until 2025.
