Sunday, October 29, 2017 - Opened and only sampled a half glass of the wine as I had guests and we were distracted from this bottle that had nice aromas but was somewhat closed on the palate. I had planned to return to the bottle several nights over the following week but it never happened. Finally, last night I pulled the wine out of the refrigerator after 8 days refrigeration with only a vacuvin closure. I expected the wine might be an oxidized mess and was angry for having wasted such a nice wine. Alas, the wine proved to be in a good place and was drinking nicely. The nose had lost some of its magic but the telltale flavors of mint, tar, rose and dark and red cherry were there. The wine impressed with its durability and I expect this wine to have many excellent years of drinking ahead of it.
