Sunday, February 11, 2018 - Good, but was expecting a bit more. My first taste of the Ten designate, I waited a few years before opening a bottle. Much like the Southing, this needs 3+ hours of decanting - first glass was about an 88, second a 90, continuing to get better, etc. By the time I was on the second half of the bottle, I was getting plum and cranberry on the nose, with secondary notes of clove. A touch hot on the first glass, the alcohol integrated nicely into the finish, which had medium acidity and tannins. Nice enough bottle, but I'm not sure about the hype, which I think is driven by its exclusivity. I prefer Rochioli single vineyards, K-B, and Littorai. Need to decide if I'll keep my allocation open or focus more on the other 3 aforementioned pinots...
