Wednesday, February 14, 2018 - Tasted at Chateau Boswell.
What an exceptional wine, composed of 40% Merlot from Soda Canyon (just below Pritchard Hill), and 60% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Missouri Hopper Vineyard in Oakville. This wine possessed a flavour I have never before tried, it was truly exceptional.
Very strong bouquet full of red fruit, almost Pinot like. Strawberries, sweet cherries, and chocolate make up the fruit flavours, coupled with a beautiful acidity from start to finish, which lasted over 45 seconds. This wine needs to be tasted to be truly understood. What a beauty!

2/28/2018 8:02:00 AM - I went back to my notes I wrote while we were tasting, and I wrote down that the 2014, Tapestry Red Blend was 40% Cab Sauv and 60% Merlot. I could have written it down mistakenly however. Ill be back at the winery next week and will confirm the exact percentages then. Either way this wine was unlike any Merlot or Cab Sauv I have ever tried, something special about the Merlot fruit they source.
