2013 Rhys Syrah Horseshoe Vineyard

Community Tasting Note

Monday, February 26, 2018 - Luckily happened upon Scorrea’s note yesterday while logging into CT, so was easy to reach for this one last night. Cork was saturated halfway up, with two seepage trails all the way to the top. Also concur with his tasting note, wine was fine but drank waaay too early. Showed nice after an hour of air. Too bad, drink these up folks...I’m wondering about other 2013 Rhys bottles...is this cork issue only limited to the Horseshoe Syrah??

3/3/2018 5:14:00 PM - So I cut the lids off mine and the looked fine. Tonight I pulled a random one and opened it. Cork is compromised at the bottom - cracked. Seepage vein of wine nearly had reached the top of the cork. Darkly stained otherwise.
