Thursday, May 10, 2018 - If you are going to pick up some BDX for your cellar that could appeal to just about anyone, this bottle is it, it has enough fruit for Cali fans, enough subtlety for Burgundy fans, and still has all the stuffing a die hard Pauillac fan would need. A textbook wine for balance. Wow. And yes, it does have a place at the table with 1982, which I had the privilege of tasting alongside ALL of the 1982 First Growths in a horizontal recently. And the Lalande took second place to only Latour. I’m glad I have 9 bottles left to revisit over the next 20 years. It’s ridiculous to say, but this wine is a serious QPR value at current auction prices.
