Friday, June 15, 2018 - Drinking well, I guess this is the peak. Slightly evolved colour but vibrant. Intense bouquet with loads of forest floor, plums, damson, with a pleasant toastiness, a mere hint of capsicum. In fact this wine was aged in new oak, the oak is felt most just after opening, then it perfectly settles into the bouquet. With a little air the wine fleshes out beautifully, the tannins become rounder, even if they retain some firmness on the finish. Medium-bodied, in a style that is somewhere between "traditional" and "modern". Probably can last another few years, but I would drink now. Overall, a pleasant surprise.
