Wednesday, August 29, 2018 - The nose showed exotic dried florals, with crushed ripe raspberry, dusty sweet spices, hints of orange zest, a savory herbal tinge and stoney-minerality. On the palate, I found a wine of contrasts, showing soft textures, offset but tart red berry fruit and perfectly balanced with juicy acidity yet leaving a coating of dry fruit extract. Notes of spicy clove, cinnamon and inner violet floral tones filled the senses, leading into a long and dramatic finish with gentle tannin, lingering spiced raspberry fruit and florals. Color me impressed.

1/26/2019 11:18:00 AM - Thanks for mentioning this in your note on 2016 Montalbera Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato L'Accento. You've led me to a promising Ruché. I've traveled to the region a small fraction of the time you have, but Ruché is such a nice complement to the regions well-known heavy hitters. When I'm on vaction, I'll have some wine with lunch and Ruché has served that purpose well on a couple of occasions. Looks like there's a WA retailer carrying this. I may just need to place an order. Thanks again.
