Tuesday, October 23, 2018 - The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful showing in this vintage which is composed of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 6% Malbec, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot. The aromas immediately jump from the glass starting with ripe blackberries and dark cherries followed by a range of sweet spices, floral and hints of sage. On the palate this is full-bodied, yet beautifully structured and balanced. There is a lovely round, polished texture, which bursts on to the long, layered finish. Overall, this is one of the most compelling ‘Signature’ releases I have tasted from Chappellet in a while, and even at this early stage it is simply delightful. (Best 2017-2032)
