Friday, November 2, 2018 - Our 3rd bottle of 16 - now in a great drinking window, mature and softening and time to seriously put this into the drinking rotation. This bottle was not decanted - would recommend a 30-60 minute decant. Inky black color. As the wine aerated and opened up the initially somewhat closed nose opened up with warm dark and fruit forward notes. Still a very big wine but well balanced, balanced oak present and tannins now well integrated and softer then on previous bottles. On the front the palate is more fruit forward with black cherry and plum, on the mid-late palate more blackberry / blueberry and violet with a hint of smoke and a long lingering aftertaste. Has at least another 3-5 good years to go with proper cellaring and hats off to the wine making team at Rasa for yet another great effort !! A really great QPR wine at our original CT price.

11/3/2018 9:00:00 AM - I'll drink to that, half way through my original 9 bottles. Definitely compares to wines double the price. Thanks to Scott for making this happen with the Rasa folks. While I drink more OR Pinot these days, I get a lot of street cred when I open one of these for friends and family.
