Saturday, October 27, 2018 - I was a little down on this wine when I last tasted it. Maybe it was an unrepresentative bottle, but this one is much improved. The fruits are super dark and quite intense with dusty plum and black cherry fruit, far from a fruit bomb. There is now nice complexity evident, with concentrated espresso and herbal notes providing a good counterbalance to the intensity of the fruit, all wrapped in a comforting blanket of toasty oak. The tannins are still velvety and there is medium acidity in support. Very nice.
