Monday, January 14, 2019 - This wine is going through a typical hunter transition. Its good at present but has lost a bit of youthful acidic brightness and settling in as a solid but perhaps not great hunter shiraz. It is certainly better than the typical Philip. Tannin support and acid give hope of a bit more life ahead where it should shine again. Give it another year or two if you only have a couple.

1/18/2019 9:23:00 PM - Great score for a young wine. I have 5 left. It's a fav of mine for such a low price. I might open one in the next couple of years to see how it's developing. I will try to keep most cellar'd for other 5-10 years.

2/4/2019 3:02:00 PM - Yes, I bought 18 of these and have gone through 6. I find a lot of Hunter Shiraz drop into a phase that they are drinkable but really similar and unremarkable. The ones that start out lighter and prettier tend to fare better in the long term in my experience. My guess is this one will be solid, if not robust drinking down the track but lack that floral complexity that the best take with them.
