89 Points

Saturday, January 19, 2019 - 3 hour decant (mag decanter). Nose: Initially ripe red fruit driven soon after opening. Currently shows red fruits with a slight dusty quality but not giving up a whole lot. Palate: Quite modern in style with cherries and some mineral aspects and not much else. The modern aspects are quite surprising given Cannalicchio's Brunellos are more traditional. While somewhat enjoyable don't think I'll be buying more of this as I prefer Rossos that have much more secondary qualities and I don't think age will necessarily bring that out given the style now. In an absolute sense this could be 90 points but given the lack of typicity it garners an 89.
