Sunday, March 3, 2019 - Had next to the 2001 Vieux Donjon, which I found much more to my liking. This was, however, better than expected for a 2007 as it has begun losing some of the heavy, overripe jamminess I remember from when I first tasted it. Obviously, very ripe and rich, but not the alcoholic mess I was fearing. Nice flavors of kirsch with some spice. No nearly as complex and refreshing as the 01 Donjon, though. My 2007 Cotes du Rhones have been drinking beautifully for the past couple years, are the CdPs going to emerge from their hot, jammy mess at some point and drink better? I wouldn't have thought so, but this bottle might get me thinking otherwise.
