Wednesday, March 13, 2019 - I am amazed at how much fruit this wine still has at age 17. This thing is loaded with ripe sweet purple fruit throughout. The heady nose is showing decent complexity with aromas of slate, cedar, creme de cassis, and creme brulee. The tannins are quite resolved which allow the fruit to just explode on the palate. This wine isn't my style but I can see how it would be attractive to people who like ripe wines. I think I will save my last bottle for another 5-10 years just to see what happens with the fruit.
