Tuesday, March 19, 2019 - Wow, last bottle in '12 huh? Well, drinking well. Certainly mature, evolved, and probably drink up status at this point. Tannins fully integrated. Medium garnet color. Super meaty on the nose with notes of dried meats and beef blood, along with crushed rocks, dark fruits, tobacco, and dried spices. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of meat and tart dark and dark red fruits carrying through, along with some lemon and minerals. Fruit is a supporting actor here, as opposed to a lead role. Worked well with an earthy black eyed pea, mustard greens, and sausage stew.
