Community Tasting Note

The texture is surprisingly thick, with both fleshy fruit and gritty tannins. The finish is quite bitter and tannic.

To be honest, I don't like this wine. It is too bitter and tannic, and I prefer more fruit sweetness.

It is a big, fairly modern style that needs the air. Several hours makes a big difference. If you have another give it a try, I think you will see a big difference. Cheers!

3/22/2019 7:33:00 PM - Probably at a restaurant I imagine...can’t help that. But I find often some otherwise great wines close down between 1 and 3 hours in the decanter, only to open back up to be at their best sometime thereafter. They will get hard and flat and backward and most people figure they are “over-the-hill” but they were actually only taking a nap. I have had 8 bottles of this over the years and it always has needed a lot of air. Cheers!
