92 Points

Tuesday, April 9, 2019 - Tasted at near-room temperature, which is advisable. Medium lemon color. Nice nose of lemon peel, wax, grain. Strikes a fine balance on the palate between leesy flavors and citrus; both are there, along with a wonderful saline component that watches over from the background. The acid balance is also in a Mozartian place, which means very well perched between tartness and fat, shading toward leanness. This wine was made from the original S & B 1972 vines by Michael Benedict, who planted them. So it’s not only good but important.
