Friday, March 22, 2019 - Tasted with Bevan at Brasswood. We had many great wines at Bevan and none that were not outstanding. The EE Cuvee was again my favorite just as it was WOTN at a holiday party we attended in December. Very similar notes as that bottle. This is a delicious wine which might warrant a higher score as it ages.

    8/12/2019 10:58:00 AM - Greetings,
I am not a fan of bright red flavors. Instead I prefer a darker fruit aspect coupled if possible with tobacco or tar or some other dark fruit aspects. That being stated is the EE the darkest of the offerings from Bevan? Do any of the Bevan offerings fall into the category I would not like. Thanks Dave

8/12/2019 11:34:00 AM - Since most of my Bevan is younger, I'm holding them for future consumption. However, based on my notes for the bottles I have tried plus the ones I've had at the winery, I think the ones that most match your flavor profile are the Sentinel Ridge, Harbison, and EE Tench.

Granted, that is based on a relatively small sample, but based on that sample I have not had a Bevan I didn't enjoy...

    8/12/2019 11:48:00 AM - Hey thanks Buckeye76,
Your note really helps as this is a new producer for me. Will copy down your suggestions. Someone suggested Bevan Wildfoote. Have you ever tasted this offering? Have some 2016 bottles but buying wine from the 2018 vintage and need guidance.

Have you had Carter wines? Any comments considering my taste preferences and Carter wines appreciated. Once again thanks for your comments. Dave

I also have quite a few bottles of Carter in the cellar. They make a bunch of Cabernets from various Beckstoffer vineyards. I suspect you would like their cabernets as well
