Root days and fruit days? Drinking it during its dumb phase? Who knows? But tonight, it is was lovely mature bottle of claret. The fruit is there but it now has a more complex palate: earthy? leathery? minerally? Above all, it is a balanced moreish wine (with roast chicken and trimmings which was one sprout short of a Xmas lunch).
