90 Points

Friday, May 24, 2019 - What a pleasant surprise. My first encounter with this producer, but definetly not my last. A beautiful red Burgundy at an affordable price. A little mute right from opening, but after an hour of air this was really singing. Medium intensity with aromas of red cherries, raspberries, cranberries, earthy, some spiced wood and a little hint of vanilla. Fine grained medium tannins, nice acidity, and a long beautiful finish of red berries and a hint of wood. Really good balance, but lacking some concentration to really compete in the Big League. Nevertheless a great effort, and I will make sure to try out more wines from Pavelot in the near future. Drink now and for the nex 5-6 years.
