Wednesday, July 10, 2019 - THE most buttery oaky wine I've ever had. Most Tobins have toasty oak that is well matched with fruit intensity but this Syrah is an oddball... a tasty oddball for sure, but once you get past the nose of warm, sweet oak, then the buttery oak on entry, the syrah spice and red fruits come thru and a very nice finish. I wonder if this was just the wines from this barrel or if all this bottling has it, but thanks for pleasant quaff.
