Saturday, August 3, 2019 - 9th of 12, decanted 80 minutes, perfect cork and level, again wonderful and little changed from bottle noted in detail in June 16, 20 years plus life and stuffing to improve further. VF+ (19).

    8/4/2019 11:39:00 AM - Haven't tasted a bottle for a while, and whilst it was always very special, it just seemed to lack that extra wow factor, but it seems it has turned that corner. It seems a lot of the 1989s are upping their game. Can't wait for the next bottle. Thanks for the note.

    I agree that this is a nearly wow wine but I think it may yet get there. At least every bottle to date has been a pleasure and I find the relaxed expression of the fruit with nothing too forced very attractive. The flavour profile also is consistent with, and reminds me of, older vintages, such as 66 and 70 which I find a comfort. I only regret not having bought more than one case at the time. a propos, I've tended to under-buy Palmer (as over priced) and over-buy LLC which with hindsight looks to have been a mistake. Next up 2000, though the good Lord only knows when that will be truly ready! Best wishes, Liber
