Saturday, September 14, 2019 - Arrow & Branch Tasting - with CSIMM1161 (AB House): I've had the last few vintages of this wine, and this is head and shoulders above the others. Truly an incredible effort and really a superior value at the price point.

A blend of 50% Cab Franc, 24% Merlot, 24% Cab and 2% PV. Nose here is a bit restrained with rose petals, crushed flowers, dark cherries and some spice box peaking out. Once you take a sip, you realize this is a deadly serious wine. Big time depth, power, structure and tannins are immediately apparent. Like the 16 Heritage Franc, this has seamless freshness and wonderful purity, with a brooding black fruit element as a result of the blend. Lots of earthy notions and deep mineral driven flavors help round out a very complex and age worthy wine. I would let these sit for a number of years, as they will almost certainly evolve into something amazing.
