Friday, December 6, 2019 - Deep crimson color, hardly any signs of aging. Decanted and waited a couple of hours before drinking. Muted nose of cassis, pepper, pencil lead, new leather. On the palate very tight and masculine, powerful wine with a tremendous structure inhibited by this LB’s young age. Very tannic and long peppery finish. I can see this needing another 10 years at least to reach maturity. Incidentally I tried the wine the next day and it was much more open.
