Wednesday, January 8, 2020 - Side-by-side with the '12. The '06 was deep copper-colored and appeared to be unfiltered next to the more cristaline apricot toned '12. The '06 was funky and fascinating on both the bouquet and palate. Nice flow but not without structure, this was lacking some of the freshness that gives the more unusual (at least to red/white/rose palates) flavors of these radikons good balance. The sweetness was still there and it had an appealing nuttiness but some of the liveliness was gone. For my palate I prefer the plenty-complex '12 to this ultra-complex and more fascinating but less fresh 14-year-old version.
