Community Tasting Note

Lively acidity that gives the fruit some lift on the palate - with Sicilian reds, once you move away from Etna, I'm always worried if there will be enough acidity given the climate/heat, but this wine is not lacking in acid. Very likable, if not overly complex.

2/17/2020 7:03:00 AM - I usually find Frappato provides enough lift and acid, at least from the likes of Gulfi, COS, and Occhipinti, whether as a standalone varietal or in these Cerasoulo blends. Actually, COS and Gulfi both make some versions of pure Nero that manage to be light and bright as well, which is something of a shock considering how chewy and rustic that varietal usually is.

I also find these develop a bit more complexity and drink best at about five years of age. 2018 being a riper year I'm not sure how that will impact aging.
