Friday, February 21, 2020 - Chez W, decanted an hour, perfect cork and level - classic dark but not over deep garnet, leggy and with nearly purple rim; cassis, plum, cedar, tobacco, etc. but above all very complex, cool and classical but with generosity of top vintage; med/full, very long, even more persistent, concentrated and powerful, grippy, expansion and nuance in mouth if not quite a fantail yet, some chocolate, silk if not velvet, barely ready. Scope to improve on VF+ (19)…..pipped slightly less complex Latour 96 on same night
