2003 Château Léoville Poyferré

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

94 Points

Saturday, March 7, 2020 - Popped, quick decant. Drank over dinner. First bottle in about 10 years. Drinking just how I imagined. Still very youthful. Side of road stand fresh Red fruits. Just a hint of some Smokey dark fruits lingering, waiting to come to fore. A hint of brown sugar, chocolate (maybe baker’s) and a hint of nice wet cigar leaves. Palate is superbly smooth, no hard edges. Maybe a tad dusty. The finish is tasty but holds a little heat. I will not open another for 10 years when this wine will be 98 points. Parker got it right the first time.
