Monday, March 23, 2020 - Popped and poured, and then drank over the course of two days. This is a medium-red wine; there is some soft sediment at the end and a decent cake left on the bottle, so drinkers should consider decanting. On the nose, I get cherry, some old wood, fresh cigar leaf, and a slightly greener note that only emerged on the second day. In the mouth, this is smooth and lush, leaving a finish that amplifies the darker fruit aspects with only mild tannins. Overall, this is good stuff and should get better with time. It is certainly a value-play wine from one of the less-heralded-but-still-pretty-good recent BDX vintages. 91 points.
