Wednesday, October 22, 2008 - This bottle was included in a 2001 blind tasting which included a '01 Beringer Private Reserve Cab, 01' Plumpjack Cab, '01 Columbia Crest Reserve Cab., '01 Piatelli Cab. (Argentina) and the '01 Opus. The 2001 Columbia Crest Reserve came is second in the tasting behind only the '01 Opus One (see my rating at that wine). A refined fruit bomb that one finds typically in higher priced California and Washington Cab. Well integrated tannins with lush blackberry with hints of blueberry jam, vanilla and oak to round it out. Cassis notes come out on the long finish of this well structure wine. This may be the finest Cab for under $30 I have ever had.
