Saturday, August 1, 2020 - The fill was top shoulder and the cork was soaked through but sound. Slow ox for an hour before service, served in Grassl 1855’s. A very deep garnet core, turning to blood red at the rim. A complex and extroverted bouquet, with classic scents of dried plum, black truffle, forest floor, cigar box, and hints of flowers. Medium bodied, with a velvety texture, great depth and balance, classic structure, and a long and complex finish. Fully mature, but has not slipped at all since I lasted opened a bottle in 2008. I suspect this particular bottle would easily last another 10+ years!
