2014 Covalli Barolo

Community Tasting Note

Friday, October 30, 2020 - I opened this bottle on the same night as the 1998 Barbaresco and they are so reminiscent of each other with their distinctive cedar, black cherry and cola notes. Maybe “cola” is my palate’s “nebbiolo flag”? Color is pale-medium garnet. To my palate, taste echoes the nose and the finish is moderate. This seems like a nice bottle of wine but not a long-aging example. I’d say fine now and for the next five year— no guarantees beyond that.

1/10/2021 5:50:00 PM - Even though the '98 might well have been on decline, that's still QUITE a price difference from this wine, likely THE least expensive Piedmonte Nebbiolo I've *EVER* seen! 😉 BTW, why not allow comments for your THOROUGHLY *detailed* TN for the '98? 🤔 I mean, you'd ABSOLUTELY get kudos from me IF I knew I could! 😉
