Sunday, November 15, 2020 - Smells like peach puree, Lipton's tea, cinnamon, and hay, all wrapped up in a wisp of smoke. Palate is intensely lemony, like a squirt of lemon has been added to a sweetened mulled tea. Interesting and powerful but lacking complexity. IMO, late harvest Riesling ought to have Botrytis.

    2/5/2021 11:58:00 AM - Generally Eiswein is made from grapes that are NOT botrytized, unlike Beerenauslese. Often the acidity is prominent, even with the high residual sugar. Definitely two different styles of wine and makes sense you would prefer one to the other.
