Gone is the new world, heavy, unctuous, fruity wine that everyone is trying to "balance" with aggressive secondary flavors or acidity or tannin. Instead, enter a more medium-weighted wine that is wonderfully balanced from the get-go! Savory sage, good acidity, and just enough tannic spine to keep things interesting. Yes, LJ's Cab Franc are quite good ... but the Malbec is her red that surprises me the most!
