Saturday, December 5, 2020 - Saralee is a favorite PN vineyard in the RRV. It smells and tastes much like the Roccioli. Medium dark purple red, on the darker and heavier side like most RRV pinot. Wonderful, intense smells of dark berries like blueberry, lots of dark sweet cherry, nicely floral (not savory earth). A full mouthful for a PN, more velvet than silk, lots of intense flavors, especially baking spices, dried fruit, cherry, tart but not sour, medium plus acid. A touch of hot alcohol. A soft, rounded tannin and a nicely balanced but surprisingly only medium length finish. One of the best examples of RRV PN.
