Saturday, February 6, 2021 - Pop and pour. A little reductive on opening, but opens up nicely with 15-20 mintes in the glass. Black cherries, blueberries, violets, perfumed, hints of liqourice, smoke and nicely integrated spicy wood. Medium mouthfeel, good concentration, very nice cool fruit, medium plus acidity, integrated alcohol (13,5 abv), smooth tannins, very long fruity finish. All in balance. I don''t have a lot of experience with blaufränkisch, but this wine was an eyeopener and a really nice surprise. A great wine, and I would love to revisit. Drinks nice young, but I guess this can grow more complexity with some years of cellaring. The fruit was lovely today though.
