Friday, February 19, 2021 - Medium to dark ruby in colour with restrained aromas of black fruit & subtle oak/earth.
On the palate, medium bodied black fruit, tart black cherry, blackberry, background oak/cedar, high acidity, low-medium soft tannins & a medium to long finish ending in spice/pepper.
Nice bright cherry wine, but the 15.5% ABV is noticeable.

A friend of mine told me this was a ‘religious experience’ for him…thinking about trading with him after your review, too.

I was hoping for a bit more of a rustic style.
This wine came from the Opimian Society.
