Friday, February 26, 2021 - Big fan of this wine. Shows the progression of Bevan's winemaking from over the top rich to better balanced and nuanced. Cherries, violets, plums, and tobacco on the nose. Really fresh, seamless and surprisingly nuanced, it's spicy and taut, with well integrated and fine grained tannin and lovely layering. I think I am getting this wine too early, because it is just starting to put on weight with more air, but in time I imagine it will be palate coating goodness. As it stands, it's incredibly well constructed, with lots of complexity and a great mix of fruit, earth and minerality. It's got a long finish and I think the best days are ahead.

2/27/2021 2:23:00 PM - I'd give it 2-3 hours. I had PnP and it took a little while to hit it's stride. I don't think you can overdo the air.

6/21/2021 7:08:00 AM - Hi Dave - seeing this a little late. Sorry to the tardiness. I think you can safely open it now with a few hours of air, but I am also pretty sure you have another 5 years or so of an excellent drinking window. Maybe longer.
