Thursday, January 1, 2009 - Opened at 2pm and began drinking at 9pm, not decanted. Beautifully balanced demonstrating both fruit and earth. Compared to 1991 Conn Creek Anthology which was fruitier and 1992 Mouton-Rothschild which tended to be earthier. In comparison to these two, the Spottswoode was my preferred wine. However there was also a 1987 Vega Sicilia Unico and that stole the show for me.
