Monday, March 29, 2021 - Similar to previous TN. Ten months later, a touch more depth and richness. Terrific QPR.

Really want to thank you for all your great TNs. They are most helpful I should reciprocate but I find it difficult to break down why I like a wine and distinguishing flavours and it usually cums down to yuk or yum (Tom Robbins reference). I did write one about the '16 Sunrock red Meritage.

Please keep up the good work

4/9/2021 10:52:00 AM - Addeatum, I have not yet had any of the ‘17s from Rob Van Westen. Very difficult to find now on the island to try a bottle before committing to a case order but I’ve rarely been disappointed with any vintage of the Voluptuous, some just need longer in the cellar. Hopefully we’ll all get vaccinated soon so we can have you down here for a group tasting. As for describing wine, it really comes down to knowing what you like and then figuring out why. That’s why we find horizontal tastings of wines made from the same grapes and many times the same vintages a great way to hone in on what you like or don’t like. You start to taste differently and discernibly - some wines are too acidic, some too bitter, some too flabby. Cheers!
