Monday, April 5, 2021 - This was recommended by the NYT and stocked by my favorite wine shop, so those were good signs and this did not disappoint. Amazing that such old vintages are available at retail (I bought this 2 years ago). The wine opens with a great nose of dark berries and baking spice. The palate boasts deep red cherry, earthy minerals, and black pepper in a dense mix that you only can achieve with age. The mouthfeel is textured with a touch of tannin and medium acidity. Long, spice-infused finish completes the package.
