Saturday, May 22, 2021 - Tenth Anniversary Magnum Celebration (Dig Wines and Piccino Restaurant, San Francisco): Magnum. Ruby. Remarkably thin feel and lack of richness for such a heralded bottle. Hugely disappointing and difficult to understand coming from this large scaled vintage. Another example of a Ponsot that was show stopping when it debuted but much less compelling later on.

5/23/2021 10:13:00 AM - The 2006 and 2007 are spectacular right now, but I would not expect the 2005 being approachable, nor ready to drink, especially from a magnum. Do you think this could have been the problem here? Way too young and closed?
