Wednesday, June 2, 2021 - Last bottle...and BOY does this need some air!!! Stank tomato patch and tar upon opening...screeching acid...after a good hour decant...ahhhhhhh...there we go! Little more aged earth browning...not as vibrant as before...but shows similar notes...lovely tarted red berry (more plum) fruits and licorice...dried roses and orange potpourri...firm and perky acidity and tannin...dusty dry hay bale...tar...really goes well with some charcuterie and cheeses. But I think we are on the down slope as this gets a little whacky and disjointed at times...not the finesse it once had, and not a Barolo reminder like before. Nice Conterno drink...but hold no longer.
