Saturday, August 7, 2021 - We did a side by side tasting of the 2014 Tri and the 2017 Tri so it was a good day.

The 2014 is drinking very well and this GSM is full bodied with plenty of red fruit like cherry and raspberry, black pepper with hints of Eucalyptus. Well balanced with a lush mouth feel, just outstanding.

The 2017 was noticeably lighter in body and fruits. The pepper from the Syrah is well presented but the other flavors were a tad mute as this stage. The acids were also more pronounced leaving this slightly out of balance. Still a good wine, easy to drink but needs food to round it out. I have a few more bottles and I am sure we will enjoy them next year.
