Saturday, September 4, 2021 - This wine continues to improve with bottle age. Alcohol dominates the nose with fresh blackberry and plum. The palate follows thru and adds black cherry. The fruit is very fresh and almost sweet, without residual sugar. The alcohol is well integrated on the palate. There is high acidity and medium tannins. The finish is medium+ in length and very fruity. The texture is uber smooth. A fairly balanced approach that could continue to improve with another 3-4 years in the bottle. The last five Justin vintages (or so) have done a decent job of threading the needle between a New World taste, with an Old World sensibility. Still more fruit forward than I would prefer and the fruit over-powers any attempt at complexity.
